You will have to pay more for the use of public transport in several regional centers than in the capital.
In Vinnytsia from today, the fare in minibusses will be 10 hryvnias. It is 2 hryvnias more expensive than in Kyiv communal transport.
On May 21, the Lviv City Council set the cost of one trip in electric vehicles and buses at 10 hryvnias.
Also raised the price for travel in buses and electric transport in Mykolaiv. Tariff increases are announced in Poltava and other cities in the near future.
Earlier mayors of the regional centers declared that municipalities will have to raise fares if the government doesn’t repay several billion debts for transportation of privileged passengers from other cities which exists since 2016. Communities spend billions of hryvnias each year to provide residents with state-guaranteed guarantees, the statement said.
The biggest debt is to Kyiv. As mayor Vitaliy Klitschko noted, in 2021 Kyiv plans to spend UAH 803.3 million to compensate for concessional travel. In this regard, the Kyiv City Council appealed to the government to eliminate the debt for concessional travel in order to prevent the raising of fares on public transport.
