Do not rush to uproot frozen bushes in winter. It is quite possible to restore them, even if the entire above-ground part is completely destroyed. Grapes are such a tenacious crop that they will grow back from the base of the bush, as growers say, from the head.

Such bushes in two three years will please with a good harvest. Only those whose root system has died should be uprooted. And this will be seen later.
What should be done now? Take and prune the vines that have not bloomed. Do not be afraid if they cry, no harm to the bushes.
All scraps are collected and burned.
Shoots that have appeared should be normalized. That is, it is banal to remove all the excess, leaving four or six best located and more developed. They can carry brushes … for better development of a bush, it is desirable to pluck them.
Affected shrubs can give weak shoots on the vines. If they are few and they are clearly lagging behind in development, it is better to remove them. But if the vines are partially damaged, it makes sense to harvest from them, for which only the dead areas are cut, and green shoots are tied horizontally.
When spraying against diseases, add a little urea to the solution (40-60 g per 10 liters) to stimulate growth. But the most important thing is to water the bushes. Why for severely affected shrubs watering is carried out once a week. For partially injured – once every two weeks. In drought even more often.
It is very important to spray the plants. Do not throw them at random until fruiting. They are frozen and now weakened, so they should be sprayed more often than usual – once every two weeks. Then diseases will not finish them.
But do not rush to feed the bushes at the root. There is an option to give double superphosphate by dissolving it in water. It is needed to restore the root system. But this is done once or twice a season. When the plants become stronger, which will be noticeable by the strong growth of shoots, then you can make fertilizers in small doses.
Degrees of damage to grapes by frost:
Slight damage: annual vines and perennial wood are fully preserved, only the eyes are frozen by 60-70%. Replacing bushes from replacement buds. There will be no harvest only this year.
Average damage: cell death by more than 70%, annual shoots and wood are partially damaged. The buds on a two-year or perennial vine start to grow. Annual vines are cut completely, perennial parts are either not touched or shortened to the desired size.
Severe damage: the entire ground part of the vine died. After freezing the entire aboveground vine sprout shoots from the underground trunk, from dormant buds, the entire aboveground part is cut off. Restoration of the bush will take two or three years. From undergrowth shoots, we leave four for the formation of sleeves.
Very severe damage: the entire ground part was killed, the underground trunk and roots partially froze to a depth of 40-50 cm.
If during the month the vine does not show signs of life, then the root system is frozen. Such bushes need to be uprooted and in three-four years to plant new.
