Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 10,2021- Poland will start imposing sanctions in the European Union against airlines that transport migrants from the Middle East to Belarus in an orderly fashion.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, on Tuesday, during a speech in the Polish House of Representatives on the migration crisis at the Polish-Belarus border.
“We want to deepen the sanctions,” Morawiecki said. “Foreign and Interior Ministers Zbigniew Rau and Mariusz Kaminsky are in talks with their counterparts in the European Union to take decisive steps towards airlines used to transport people from the Middle East.”
According to him, he talked about this topic on Monday with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, on Wednesday he will talk about it with the President of the European Council Charles Michel, who will arrive on a visit to Poland.
According to Polish government spokesman Piotr Mueller, Michel will arrive in Poland in connection with the migration crisis, where he will meet with Polish Prime Minister Moravetsky.
As Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski informed the Sejm on Tuesday, 40 planes with migrants arrive in Belarus every week from the Middle East.
It is known that migrants from the Middle East are transported to Belarus by three airlines: Belarusian Belavia, Russian Aeroflot and Turkish Turkish Airlines. In this regard, Moravetsky stated in the Polish Seimas that he was concerned about Turkey’s close cooperation with Russia and Belarus.
According to the agency, the migration crisis on the border between Belarus and Poland has been going on since August. Three countries accuse Belarus of deliberately creating migratory pressure as part of hybrid actions against them as EU countries.
On November 8, about 3-4 thousand migrants gathered near the border with Poland and tried to cross the border by force, which provoked resistance from Polish servicemen and border guards.
