Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 17,2021- The UK has faced hundreds of cyberattacks over the past year studying coronavirus vaccines, and there have been a number of incidents involving Russia and China.
The UK’s National Cyber Security Center (NCSC), part of the country’s government communications hub, has also reported 777 cyber attacks this year. They have affected about 20 percent of organizations in the healthcare and vaccine sector, including hospitals and research centers.
In particular, this is a global hacking campaign entrusted to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service. The alleged SolarWinds attack is “one of the most serious cyber breaches in recent times,” according to an NCSC report.
Another major incident involving a state-supported business involved an attack on Microsoft.
Jeremy Fleming, director of the British Center for Government Communications, described the cases as “two of the most serious global cyber incidents we have seen in recent years”.
The NCSC said China was a “highly developed” operator in cyberspace with “growing ambitions to expand its influence beyond its borders” and a proven interest in Britain’s trade secrets.
According to Jeremy, technological leadership is now shifting eastward.
“One of the trends observed by NCSC over the last year has been the alarming rise of criminal groups using extortionist programs to extort from organizations. In my opinion, this is the most immediate threat to cybersecurity for British business, and I think it should be higher in the agenda of the board of directors, “said NCSC Executive Director Lindy Cameron.
According to First Deputy White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre, the United States is ready to react aggressively to Russian cyberattacks. The government uses a wide range of tools to respond aggressively to external cyber attacks, including preventive measures, innovation, diplomacy, and special counter-operations in cyberspace, which it does not publicly announce.
