Kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 17,2021- The number of deaths in the European region during the week of November 8-14 increased by 5% compared to the previous week, while other regions reported decreasing trends or similar numbers.
This was stated in the weekly epidemiological bulletin of the World Health Organization (WHO).
According to the organization, the total number of cases of coronavirus in the world during this period increased by 6% compared to last week and amounted to 3,346,517. Growth has been reported from Europe, North and South America, and the Western Pacific. Other regions have reported declines or similar numbers.
The global death toll remained the same as the previous week, at 49,584.
The largest number of new cases were recorded in the United States (550684; an increase of 8%), Russia (275.579; similar to the previous week), Germany (254,436; an increase of 50%), and the United Kingdom (252,905; similar to the previous week). and Turkey (180167; decrease of 9%).
As of the morning of November 17, 255,099,514 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the world, including 5,129,836 deaths, and 230,635,391 people have recovered.
During the entire epidemic in Ukraine, 3,263,417 people fell ill, 2,684,584 people recovered, and 78,754 people died. More than 9 million Ukrainians have completed vaccination against COVID-19.
