“At least nine people, including four children, were killed and several others injured when a wall collapsed in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu,” the report said.
The cause of the tragedy is the heavy rain that has swept the region over the past few days.
The state government has promised to allocate half a million rupees (about $6,700) to relatives of the dead and 50,000 rupees (about $670) to the wounded.
Most schools in the state were closed for several days due to heavy rains.
