kyiv.Ukraine.Ukraine Gate – November 28,2021- Countries that help strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities do not provoke conflict, but contribute to strengthening peace and stability.
Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba expressed this opinion in an interview with the German newspaper Zeit.
I categorically reject the erroneous reasoning that supplying arms to Ukraine provokes incitement to conflict. The minister said that Russia wants Ukraine to be weak, so those who deny military and defense cooperation with our country strengthen Russia’s position.
He recalled that Germany from the very beginning refused to help Ukraine with weapons, and also expressed regret that “some countries gravitate towards the Russian narrative – as if it is impossible to arm Ukraine, because this, they say, can give us courage and encourage us to take some kind of military measures “. Kuleba called such statements complete nonsense, stressing: “We did not attack anyone and we have no intention of solving the problem of Donbass by military means.”
The Foreign Minister noted that Kiev is in a very active dialogue with international partners, including European ones, who sell military equipment and weapons to our state, cooperate in the military-technical sphere to strengthen Ukraine’s ability to self-defense. At the same time, he did not specify which countries were being discussed.
According to Kuleba, military support, clear political messages and economic sanctions are the “containment package”. And it depends on this whether the current tension on the border will turn into real military action. The main factor is the stability of Ukraine.
In addition, Kuleba noted that the Minsk agreements and the Normandy format “are in a coma, but still alive, and we should try to bring them back to consciousness.” The only way is to keep trying, no matter how long it takes, to put your frustrations and frustrations behind you and stay on track. “There is only one alternative to diplomacy: war. And Ukraine does not seek war. Therefore, we will continue to try, because we strive for peace, stability and security for Ukraine and all of Europe, ”the minister stressed.
