Scientists have studied the eating habits of about 500 thousand people. The results of the study are published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.
“Research has shown that people who ate red or processed meat four or more times a week had a 20% higher risk of colorectal cancer than those who ate less than twice a week.
The risk of colorectal cancer increases by 19% with each daily 25-gram serving of processed meat, which is equivalent to a slice of ham. And for every 50 grams of red meat a day, equal to a thick piece of roast beef, the risk of colorectal cancer increases by 18%, “- said in a study.
Experts advise to “lean” on foods rich in fiber, such as vegetables and fruits.
