The Constitution of Ukraine states that the main element of the State Emblem of Ukraine is the Badge of the Princely State of Volodymyr the Great.
The approval of the trident with the coat of arms of the Ukrainian People’s Republic was a sign of freedom of every citizen of the new Ukrainian state.
