British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons appealed to the Russian authorities to stop burning and misappropriating Ukrainian grain, as well as to adhere to the “grain agreement”. Simmons made a corresponding statement on her Twitter .

“This is such an important step (the departure of the first ship with Ukrainian grain from the port of Odesa – ed.), but it is the first step. Russia now needs to honor its side of the deal and allow grain ships to pass safely. And they need to stop burning and appropriating Ukrainian grain,” Simmons said in the message.

US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink said that the departure of the first vessel with Ukrainian grain from the Odesa port is progress in providing grain that should feed millions of people around the world.
