An employee of the State Bureau of Investigation detained the head of one of the departments of the Northern Correctional Colony No. 90, who, before the release of Kherson from the Russian occupiers, allowed the prisoners to escape.

According to the SBI, an employee of the colony from the first days of the seizure of Kherson worked for the occupiers and was responsible for pre-trial detention centers and places of execution of punishments.
As noted, the “head” of the security department of the pre-trial detention center organized the removal of convicts to landscaping work, and for several days even headed this pre-trial detention center.
“On the day of the liberation of Kherson from the occupiers, an employee of the colony pretended that he did not see the escape of the prisoners and did not take any action to prevent it. But he did not have time to escape and was detained by the SBI in cooperation with the SBU,” the message says.
A former employee of the colony was notified of suspicion of treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces life imprisonment for confiscation of property.
