It is known that a person’s appearance is directly related to nutrition. So, after fatty or sweet food, rashes may appear on the face, and excessively salty foods often cause dehydration and dryness. And some negatively affect the condition of the skin in general and accelerate the aging process.

Sugar
Many people today give up sugar for various reasons. In addition to promoting weight gain, it also has a negative effect on the skin. The consumption of sugar triggers a process in the body called glycation. It damages proteins and lepids, which directly affect the firmness and elasticity of the skin.
Accordingly, the more sugar you consume, the more your risk of early wrinkles increases.
Salt
Salty food retains water in the body, which provokes edema. It also “sucks” fluid out of the cells, and if not kept hydrated, this can lead to dehydration. As a result, the skin wrinkles and ages faster.
Fast food
There is no doubt about the harmfulness of burgers and French fries. However, the problem is not only in the extra pounds that will inevitably appear if you overuse fast food restaurants. The fact is that fast food, as well as fried fatty foods, canned foods and some other products, contain large amounts of trans fats.
These substances increase the risk of developing cardiovascular disease and negatively affect blood vessels. If the skin does not receive enough oxygen and its blood supply is impaired, the aging process proceeds faster.
Processed meat
Sausages, sausages and other processed meat products are also not healthy. They contain a lot of preservatives and salts – although they can extend the shelf life of products, they are harmful to health. As with any salty food, processed meat can cause dehydration and inflammation.
Moreover, such foods negatively affect the level of vitamin C, which, in turn, plays an important role in collagen synthesis. The latter is responsible for the elasticity of the skin.
Cellulite can appear not only from fast food, but also from seemingly correct products.
Fried potatoes
Potatoes contain a lot of starch – in the body, it breaks down to glucose, that is, sugar, which, as already mentioned, does not bring great health benefits.
In addition, if you fry potatoes with a lot of oil, free radicals will be released – special substances, breakdown products of unhealthy fats, inflammatory processes or metabolic disorders. Due to oxidizing agents, these substances can damage cells at the molecular level, including skin cells.
The safest way to eat potatoes is boiled or baked.
Coffee
Drinks with a high caffeine content are thought to also cause dehydration. As a result, the skin becomes thinner, drier and more vulnerable to external influences.
However, according to the hydration index, which was developed by scientists from the British University of Loughborough in 2015, coffee and tea retain fluid in the body in the same way as regular water and sports drinks.
Spicy food
Food with spices and herbs also has beneficial properties. However, you should not overuse spicy dishes. Such food promotes the expansion of blood vessels and is bad for skin prone to rosacea. Excessive consumption of spicy foods can lead to redness, swelling, and even an allergic reaction.
Charcoal meat
Scientists from the Laboratory of Health and Environmental Pollution at the University of Jinan (Guangzhou) have found that when the barbecue is lit, large amounts of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are released. This happens as a result of the decomposition of cellulose under the influence of temperature. Most PAHs are carcinogens – once they enter the body, they can affect the structure of DNA and increase the risk of developing cancer.
According to the study, a person receives about 1-5 mg of PAHs daily with food. At the same time, in people who regularly eat fried meat, this figure can reach 6-9 mg. Therefore, it will be more useful to refrain from this cooking method.
