Wesley Allen Biler, detained on January 15 in downtown Washington near the Capitol with weapons and ammunition, was released, prosecutors in court did not demand his arrest.
The man was detained while trying to enter a closed area near the Capitol. During the inspection, weapons and ammunition were found in his possession, and the pass, which he showed to the officers, was declared invalid by the police.
According to Biler, a mistake was made and he had no malicious intent. The man said he worked as a security guard in downtown Washington this week on the eve of Joe Biden’s inauguration. He claims that when he left the house, he forgot that there were firearms in the car, and when he remembered, he decided not to return because he was late. According to him, there is a license for weapons at home.

A source told the publication that Biler is not connected with extremists, law enforcement officers have only one claim against him – carrying a weapon without a license.
Following the riots in the Capitol on January 6 during the approval of the results of the presidential election, according to which Joe Biden won, security measures were tightened in the United States due to fears of new clashes. The state of emergency is in force in the metropolitan district until January 24 in connection with the upcoming inauguration of Biden, Washington is patrolled by the military.
