As part of the initiative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to assist young people from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in entering higher education institutions, the Ministry of Education and Science has launched a pilot project of free training courses for children with disabilities. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet.
“We strive to attract as many children who have completed secondary education in the temporarily occupied territory after April 2014 to study in Ukraine,” said Serhiy Shkarlet.
He said that the pilot project will operate during 2021-2022 in nine higher education institutions:
introductory campaign 2021 that one Higher Education
Donetsk National Technical University;
Ivan Franko Zhytomyr State University;
Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University;
Mariupol State University;
National Pedagogical University named after MP Драгоманова;
National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”;
Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University;
Tavriya National University named after VI Vernadsky;
Kherson State University.
“Donbass-Ukraine and Crimea-Ukraine educational centers are located in these free economic zones, which will help TOT entrants to submit the necessary documents for training in preparatory courses. You can also consult by calling the Government hotline 0 800 504 425, ”the Minister said.
Serhiy Shkarlet also said that higher education institutions should help provide students with preparatory courses for places in the dormitory for the period of study. Recruitment for courses has already begun, training will take place in full-time, mixed or distance forms.
The order of the Ministry of Education and Science approved methodological recommendations for the implementation of a pilot project and an educational declaration on the completion of secondary education in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

It is established that the period of study in preparatory courses from February to May 2021 is 4 months (120 hours), from October 2021 to May 2022 – 8 months (240-480 hours).
